Chapter Twenty-Five
DAWN.
Elijah gaze at me with eyes full of panic and horror and I'm sure that mine reflects the same emotions.
"Are you hurt?"
He asks, his voice rushed and his eyes moving across the surroundings, probably trying to comprehend what just happened.
"I'm not. I'm fine,"
I tell him and the door bursts open the next second, Ryder emerging out of the house with wide eyes. His eyes lands on my form that's currently tucked under Elijah's and I watch his demeanor soften by a trance.

Elijah says, bringing my attention back to him and I nod, making my way towards the door only to realize Elijah isn't following behind me.

DAWN. Life can be hilarious sometimes. Very funny, at times. Weeks ago, and probably even days, I would have let Elijah make his move. Hell! I would have welcomed it with open arms.
