Chapter 24

Betty slid his arms away and returned back to her side and slept too. That night she really slept well. She guessed it was because of the pain that her body had gone through. She was woken up by sunlight rays coming from the window and when she looked at the spot where David slept, he was nowhere to be found.

She felt so much energy today. All her fears disappeared the moment she found out that David had gone. She straightened up and opened the door to go downstairs to have some breakfast. She was still feeling sore but at least today she can walk a little bit better.

As she started climbing down the stairs, the first person she saw was David. Her first response was to turn back and run but he had already seen her. He chuckled softly at the stupid woman who wanted to run away in fear and commanded her to come down at once.

“I have already seen you. Come down this instance.”

“Alright” She slowly continued climbing down the rest of the stairs. But now the happiness that she felt earlier
