Chapter 38

“Please follow up on the loan issue from the bank manager and give me results.” David said in a soft but stern voice that left the finance manager trembling vigorous. He expected to be fired with immediate effect, but to his surprise their CEO has softened recently.

“I understand sir” He answered with a relief evidently on his face.

David stood up, walked out of the room and went to his office .He took the medicine and told his secretary to cancel all his appointment as he didn’t want to be disturbed. As he lay down on the bed at the back of his office he realized that he haven’t checked on Betty, so he took out his phone and called her. She was sound asleep judging by the way she was talking.

“Betty, how are you feeling now? I am sorry I left early, I had an urgent matter to attend to.” He said with unusually quiet voice and it worried her that something might be wrong with him.

Betty cleared her sleepy voice and replied with a husky voice “I am fine. Just a little sore and tired. “
