Sylvia's POV(Next day)After my mom confirmed it was all right for me to go back to school, I immediately hurried out. Even if I didn't like it that much, I'm glad to be away from the house for a couple of hours, not to mention the babysitting job I have this evening. Arriving at the school premises, I knew better than to expect warm welcome hugs and kisses. Why should I? I didn't have any friends. Not like I bother anyway, I headed up to my locker and began picking out my notes. On my way to my first class, I spotted Patrick in the hallway. Wanting to talk to him, I rushed towards him."Hey," I called out once I got to his side. He glanced at me and nodded."Hi." He muttered.Clearing my throat, I continued. " I wanted to thank you for visiting yesterday. No one has been kind enough to do that. ""You're welcome.""Plus, I wanted to ask. Did, by chance, Alex send you to me to offer me an apology on behalf of Tasha?"Patrick stopped walking and turned to me, surprise evident on his
Tasha's POVOverwhelmed with surprise, I made to tell on her. Why? Cause it sounded like the perfect thing to do because I'm looking for every possible way to her back at her. Raising my hands, I was just about to call the teacher when I felt a jab on my back. Soothing the spot, I turned to tongue-lash the culprit but froze immediately. It was Alex."And what do you think you're doing?" He whispered fiercely."N-nothing. " I began but changed my mind. " Didn't you see Sylvia? " I asked instead."No. Why?""She's sneaking out. I want to tell the teachers so she can be caught.""And how is that your business? I thought I told you to stay away from her. " Alex countered."What? So you're just going to let her go?""What she does is none of your business. Let her get caught by herself, you don't have to be the one to break the news. Besides, how are you so sure she's the one?" He asked, frowning.I opened my mouth but snapped it shut. I don't want to get into another argument with Alex.
Sylvia's POVI stared at Tasha, fighting for words. All in all, I was confused. How did she get to find out?"I was in the school of course. Where else would I be?" I said, even though it didn't ring true.Tasha clicked her tongue, rolling her eyes. " You think I believe you? For all I know, you're just another little liar! " She pointed out, scowling. I gulped nervously."I-I was in school... I-I swear." I stuttered, desperately looking for a way to convince her. If she tells on me, I'll be doomed.Tasha smiled. It was a sly one, the one that says she had me right where she wanted me and there was no escaping it."Let's see how you convince the principal and the entire board of how you were in school when you were not..." she muttered to my ear and just as she was about to leave, she got yanked back."What the hell...!?" she yelped out in pain. I looked up at the person who owned the hands and heaved a quick sigh of relief. It was no other than Alex."Hey! What are you doing?" She as
Sylvia's POVI heard noises coming down below and stopped what I was doing? Why are they yelling?"What going on down there?" I asked, looking at Hazel. Her smile dropped, and she looked really sad. "It's Alex..." she muttered, her voice barely audible." He's probably arguing with daddy again." Confused, I probed further." Is he... Is he always like this?""No. But sometimes it just gets to him. I don't know why." She said, sighing sadly. I patted her on the back and gave her a reassuring smile. "It'll be alright. Let's finish what we were doing." I said to her."Okay..." she muttered. Everywhere had quietened down, I noticed.***I excused myself after a while to go look for Alex. Using the maid's directions, I finally figured out where he was. He was standing on the balcony, his gaze out into the night sky. Probably still fuming. I carefully made my way beside him, making sure not to make any noise. Eventually, I just stood there not saying anything, but he knew I was there."Hey
Sylvia's POV(Next day, at school)I had just finished taking everything that I'll need and was heading towards my class when I spotted Alex. I smiled and waved at him, but he stopped me, motioning for me to come closer."Good morning..." I greeted as I walked closer. He smiled that perfect smile of his, making my heart skip a beat."Good morning yourself. How are you?""Great. You seem to be in a good mood this morning.""I am in a good mood. " He replied, placing a hand on his chest. I giggled, brushing my bangs off my face."So... How'd did it go... The apologizing stuff?" I asked."Good. Even better than I expected." He said, then his face clouded with worry. " Although... Nevermind." He replied, shaking it off. " That's not why I called you though.""It isn't?""No. My parents will be hosting a private party at a resort this weekend. Edward told me about it this morning and since Hazel heard, she wanted me to invite you."I was taken aback. Did I just hear that I got invited to a
Sylvia's POVStaring at my reflection in the mirror, I sighed softly, brushing out my hair. The day has arrived and according to Alex, I'm supposed to be picked up by his parents as he'll be arriving differently.I heard a knock on my door and my mom peeked in. "Hey, honey. Can I come in?"I smiled." Sure."She walked up to me, laying a hand on my shoulders."You've been changing a lot recently." She began."Really? I didn't notice.""Sure you didn't. But I did.' Taking in a deep breath, she continued. " You've been talking a lot more, smiling a lot more, and going out a lot more.""Is it a bad thing? " I asked, beginning to get a little apprehensive."No... Of course not. I just didn't know... This day will ever come. You coming out of your shell. ""Well, it has. " I said, and we giggled."I'm glad. " She said, straightening up she added. " So I won't be the one delaying you, you can go on now." I watched her leave the room. I put my hairbrush down and applied some gloss on my lips
Patrick's POVGlancing around, I noticed Sylvia was taking too long to return. Are the towels that hard to find? I made a sneak peek at Hazel and went to look for her. Walking to the pool area, I spotted Tasha hurriedly leaving it. Huh? What's she doing there? I shrugged it off and made to call on Sylvia but got distracted when I saw someone drowning in the pool.My heart thumped once when I realized who it was. Okay, you've got to be kidding me. Hurrying towards the pool, I jumped in and dragged her out, placing her on the raised pavement. She sputtered but didn't open her eyes. How long has she been in the pool?"Sylvia... Are you there?" I called out, gently shaking her. No response."Come on..." I groaned out, terrified. She must've taken in a lot of water, I reasoned frantically. There's only one way to do this then. Taking in a deep breath, I placed my hands on her chest, pressing it gently, then breathed into her mouth with mine. She gasped and began coughing, throwing out wate
Sylvia's POVThe party was over and it was time to leave. I held Hazel's hand as we walked back to the car, Alex beside me."Thanks for coming. I hope you enjoyed today." He began."I did. What about you?""I'm not sure I'll be able to give a positive answer on that one." He said, his eyes mirroring the sadness he felt."Tasha right?" I muttered, and he nodded."I have to go now. See you later." He said and bade us goodbye.I looked down at Hazel and she smiled up at me."Come on, let's go home," I said, taking her into the car.***Hazel's parents drove me home. I thanked them and strolled into the house where my mom was already waiting for me."Good evening mom." I greeted her, giving her a quick hug."Good evening, dear. How was your party?""Fine. I had fun." "I made dinner. Would you like to have some before you sleep?""Uh... No. I already ate before I came in. I'll just shower and go to bed early.""Okay." I nodded and started up the stairs, but she called me back."Sylvia? If
