Kiara's pov

Jerking up from my sleep, I could hear the cry of my little boy sending me into a frenzy. Awakening from a deep sleep was never a happy time. But they say that a mother should sacrifice her sleep for the sake of her baby. I sat up in bed, trying to shake the fog of sleep from my brain as I reached for my phone to check the time. It was just after midnight. I sighed and swung my legs over the side of the bed, rubbing my eyes as I tried to clear the cobwebs from my head.

I made my way to the nursery, my feet padding softly against the carpeted floor. As I approached the crib, I could see my little boy thrashing about, his face scrunched up in distress. My heart ached at the sight of him, and I quickly scooped him up into my arms, cradling him close.

"It's okay, sweetheart," I whispered, rubbing his back gently. "Mama's here. Everything's going to be okay."
