Watching through The Beast's eyes and seeing her relief as she wrapped her arms around our neck and sagged into us.

“I feel like a princess being rescued from a tower.” She tried to joke. We grunted and she wrapped her legs around our middle before we used those claws to slide down the trunk of the tree, Bri in tow. Then we refused to put her down the caveman that The Beast was, just kept walking and I didn't protest as she nestled into us safe and secure. Beau followed behind head hung low, without a word. No doubt ready to hear me rage.

He had kept them all safe and his choices were a lesson all the boys as well as I needed to take note of. Sometimes your brain was the better choice over your physical strength. No doubt in my mind that had he slipped up, chosen a different route, or fallen victim to that rage that still boiled in both our veins he’d have lost not just Bri, but himself, and possibly the boys as well.
