Chapter 53 " What changed between us ?"

Perl scoffed at her colleagues who were talking among themselves about their boss and CFO's affairs. She wanted to laugh at the stupidity of these people around her. She already knew everything about Landon and Crystal.

Standing up from her desk, she went to the restroom to freshen up a little with all this overloaded work.

Perl walked into the restroom, and as she washed her hands, she heard faint sobs coming from one of the stalls. She hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should intrude, but she immediately recognized the voice of her friend.

She knocked gently on the stall door and called out, "Crystal, are you okay in there? It's me, Perl."

There was a long pause, and then her friend's voice, thick with tears, answered, "I'm fine, Perl. Just give me a minute."

Perl leaned against the sink, waiting patiently. She knew that the things happening in the office would negatively affect Crystal. She would need time to compose herself, and she didn't want to rush her friend.
