Healing

Lucien wakes up with a gasp. The air around him seemed a lot more chill and his vision was shaky. Upon his perceptions increasing, he concludes that he was indeed been taken through a rough course towards the promised land.

"Master Kohl..." he takes the name of his master, looking around and sniffing the air.

"We're moving away from the palace, Lucien. Keep still." Lucien hums softly as he rests his neck back on the sack of hay placed below his head as support. He looks over the planks of the cart to see something burning. It's smoke rises to the air, Lucien widens his eyes.

"Is that...?"

"We shouldn't leave any traces behind. Six centuries of life has taught me that." Saying, the man laughs at himself in his husky voice. Lucien hears the mules being struck with the bamboo as they whinny and walk faster.

Around mid afternoon, Kohl stops the cart and rewards the hardworking animals with sweet grass. Lucien groans with pain, but it was all in his head.

"My pain...what did you do?" Kohl
