My heart raced as I caught sight of Marcus's familiar figure and heard his voice behind me.

"Looking for me?" he asked, a smile playing on his lips.

"No, I'm not. Why would I?" I replied, feeling annoyed.

I could sense Marcus's gaze on me, but I refused to meet his eyes. Dealing with him right now was the last thing I wanted, especially after what happened between us last night.

As I descended the stairs, I could hear him following me. Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm my nerves before finally turning around to face him.

"Can we talk, Sam?" he asked.

"About what?!" I inquired in a hight tone of voice.

"Please, just calm down," he pleaded, attempting to soothe me.

"What do you want, Marcus?" I questioned, struggling to maintain a steady voice.

"About what happened last night. It's proof that you still have feelings for me," he said, his voice softening.

"Why don't you give us another chance, Sam?" he implored.
