Maeryn was dumbfounded as if not expecting that from Seraphine before chuckling to brush off that awkwardness and speaking up, "Ah! Yes, Lady Seraphine. I am sorry; I must have forgotten."
Seraphine pulled her hands back.
Someone as dense as Maeryn was able to notice the unfriendliness and coldness in Seraphine's tone, and therefore, she didn't dare refute despite her displeasure.
