Abby is sitting on the bed when she hears a commotion in the living room. Slowly she stands up from the bed and moves over to the door, pressing her ear to it. She hears a man's deep voice speaking and her stomach knots with dread.
“Gabriel Davis, you are under arrest for the kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment of one Abigail Kensington and one Tommy Bruno. You have the right to remain silent. Anything that you say can and will be held against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can not afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you. Do you understand these rights as I have stated them to you?”

I am the officer in charge of Mister Davis's case. If you want to tell me the story, maybe I will alter the charges against him, but officer Jones here has no authority in the matter concerning Mr. Davis.
