Chapter 73

"Why didn't you inform us that you were going somewhere? I was worried sick. I thought I had lost you," Charlotte cried in my arms, her hands folded into a fist as she lightly hit my chest. She punched there continuously as the tears bit by bit stopped coming out of her beautiful eyes. When I noticed how wet her face was, I reached for her face and gently wiped up the residual tears that had yet to fall. I looked into her eyes and felt quite angry with myself. I knew that Charlotte got worried easily but I still didn't choose to inform her of where I was going.

Wanting to comfort her, I wrapped my hands tightly around her waist and then brought one up until it rested at the back. It came in contact with her shoulder blade which was easy to locate, for the dress she had worn was tight and hugged her body in the right places.
