Chapter 28

"Damien?" I called out quietly as I looked around the room.

I frowned as I realized he wasn't here.

Going over to the same curtains he had left out of, I pulled them open to see a glass door.

Opening it though I quickly realized it led to nothing. I looked down seeing the depths of darkness and let out a sigh before walking back over to the bed, leaving the door open.

I definitely had to get out of here before this ceremony. There was absolutely no way I could go through with this.

I knew his plan now and there was no need to stick around a second longer but with Damien now nowhere to be found, how would I leave?

I had no idea how to make my wings pop out, let alone use them. I didn't know which river would take me back and that was if I could even there without getting caught which would extremely difficult considering there was always someone outside my door prowling the hall.

I got up and began pacing the room and didn't stop until I was completely exhausted.
