CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE: DRAMA

Jayden came and sat next to her on a bench on the lawn in front of the house as she bit her lip in the silent night, trying to hold herself from crying, and she leaned into him and finally let the tears fall on his sleeve.

"What happened Alisa? You're crying."

She turned to look at him and he looked into her eyes, past them, and into her thoughts, and he saw it there.

"Oh my. I'm sorry you had to see that."

Alisa turned to him, her eyebrows furrowed before she remembered that he could read her mind now. She was beginning to hate this— that she could not keep anything away from him.

But she was beginning to hate everything else too. She had just caught her best friend sleeping with her brother and hated the fact that it had been her best friend who was supposed to be taking care of him and keeping him safe from predators.

She hated Johnny too for going along with it.

Didn't they both think about her and how she would feel if they ever got caught?
