It was late in the night when we drove home. Nile’s driver was there to pick us up. He was also thoughtful enough to let one of his men drive my friends to their home.

We were in the backseat of his car with the partition up, his head laid on my shoulder. He always let it up when the two of us are in the back. I was mesmerized by the city lights passing by like a blur. Although I was distracted by it, I couldn’t help but think about the possibilities at home.

“Nile.” He responded with a hmmn. “Is your mother…”

Nile slowly sits upright. “Isn’t at home.” He continued my question with an answer. “You don’t need to worry about my mother. She’s always not around and if she is, I will let her understand that you’ll be staying for good.”
