Care and love

MELISSA'S POV

When I woke, I felt someone lying next to me and for a split second, I began to panic. Who was lying next to me? Then I smelled the familiar scent of Alexander Smith as my entire body relaxed, snuggling even closer to him.

The sun was still up which meant we hadn't been asleep for long, but I still felt like I could sleep for several more hours. I remembered Damien and Johnny were still downstairs so I slowly sat up, still holding onto Alexander's hand. I had a hard time leaving him, but I knew I had to see how far those guys had gotten.

I got to the end of the bed when I heard Alexander groan and roll to his back.

"Where do you think you're going?"

I smiled, knowing that everything was going to be okay now that he was here.

"Back downstairs to check on the guys."

Alexander sat up, running his hand over his face. "First, let's clean you up. Doesn't look like you've been to a doctor yet."

My cheeks blushed as I remembered the words from Milo. No hospital. No phone calls.
