82. A Car Ride

I looked at the body of the man before me, I noticed that his breathing was shallow as he lay there unconscious.
I moved Kiara away from him, wanting to hold on to her forever but I knew I couldn't.
"Did you feel anything? Apart from turning this fucker human again." I asked her.
"He was in pain, it felt like despair. I don’t think they’re the real enemy." She said. Her sexy voice was like fucking music to my ears.
The urge to just close my eyes and listen to her filled me. I wasn’t sure I’d ever get the luxury or even the courage to ask her to lull me to sleep… I frowned. Where the fuck was my mind going?

"I couldn't sense it off of him." Her reply came. I looked at her, her eyes gazing at the ground, a few inches away from where the man lay. My heart fucking twisted at that, how did it feel to not be able to see? I had the strong urge to pull her into my arms. But I didn’t.
