Chapter 17

It was a small apartment with one or two bedrooms, not exactly that kind of fancy suite an Alpha would like to stay in, but more like a plain house of ordinary people.

The furniture inside was pretty common but homely. There wasn’t much decoration around, just a typical single male’s apartment, a little messy but pretty clean.

Elena found the light switch in the living room beside the door, but it didn’t work. She then gave up. And Ethan closed the door behind her.

“Good luck,” he mouthed to her with an assuring smile before he left.

And then, following that light click of the door lock, everything just sank into deep silence.

There were bright tall street lamps outside, so the apartment wasn’t in complete darkness. Still, it was dark, and cold, and lonely, and somehow, stifling, like at the bottom of the ocean.
