The very moment we became aware of our uninvited guest’s presence, Hayden wrapped his arms protectively around my figure in attempting to shield me from whatever hazard would come our way. My breath is caught in the throat, I’m shaking like a leaf, to say the least.
“W-why are you here?” I don’t know how I’ve mustered the courage to question the daunting man, my instincts warn me to run for my life, my logic tells me that it will be futile to try to outrun a vampire.
Yet as crazy as it seems, the voice in my head is acting really weird, if I were to listen to it, I would strongly believe that this vampire is not an enemy.
