"But Mr. Bob, what about my shift at the bakery?" I had been pleading with the couple every few minutes to persuade them to let me return to the bakery and then deliver food. What was the point of me staying here? It was just nonsense and Sawyer’s way of controlling my life.

"You have to listen to the alpha king. This is the first time our bakery has received so much royalty in a day. Just do your job well, and we might give you more relaxed hours and even increase your pay. Now stop complaining." Mr. Bob hung up on me and sighed.

Sawyer sat comfortably in his chair, working on his laptop while I was stuck in his office. I mostly stood by the window, having somewhere to gaze out.

"Are you really going to call Mrs. Bob next? Didn't she say the same things her husband told you?" His comment came nonchalantly. His fingers were busy battling with the keyboard.

"Why are you doubting me, Sawyer?" I was getting annoyed with his controlling ways.
