It was a peculiar day. Sawyer stuck to me like glue. It seemed like he feared an eagle might swoop down and snatch me away if he lost sight of me even for a moment. He kept me tethered to his study, entrusting me with typing some reports on his laptop.

Despite my protests about being slow and not having studied much, he insisted I work.

"I'll fetch the package from the gamma at the gate and be right back. Make sure nobody enters the study while I'm gone," Sawyer said, springing up to accept the package himself. He was striving to catch up with everything, and honestly, I've never encountered an aloha king so dedicated to his work.

He was different. Jack never paid this much attention. He'd delegate these tasks to the betas and gammas and then forget about them until his mother reminded him. Sawyer, on the other hand, was like a well-oiled machine.

Sitting across from his laptop, I wondered if there was some important file open that he didn't want anyone to see in his absence
