3 Got Caught

“WHY SHE’S HERE?!” Ashlyn ignored Vladimir before angrily asking her parents about his presence around their house.

“She’s rude for ignoring me like that.” Vladimir sighed as he thought about being ignored again by the same woman.

“Who’s she? Anyway, where have you been we have to talk over that attitude of yours.” Ashlyn's father, Alpha Jace was getting irritated by the attitude of his daughter again. But he was controlling himself in front of a polite vampire in their house.

“I AM NOT TALKING TO YOU!” Ashlyn growled at his father and her mother, Serenity ignored them before smiling at Vladimir apologetically.

“Ahm, I think I better leave, and thank you for letting me stay.” Vladimir excused himself as he still thanked them for letting him stay.

“No problem, you can visit those addresses for your part-time jobs here.” Serenity smiled and hugged him in such familiarity that surprised Ashlyn but not showing to her glaring face. Ashlyn knew her mother never hug anyone aside from her and her father.

“I will, thank you again. Excuse me, Alpha Jace, Luna Serenity, and young miss.” Vladimir pulled away and bowed respectfully like a gentle knight.

Ashlyn was taken back to the gesture but she still glares as she watched Vladimir retreat back to leave their pack house with their patrolling wolf men.

“Argh! Why I am looking back at her?!” Ashlyn groaned to herself as she went to the kitchen to grab her minty milk ice cream. She was about to dash to her bedroom when her father cornered her again.

“You, young lady, what do you think your attitude was all about? You being rude earlier and now this?” Jace asked bluntly her daughter before Ashlyn could make it to the staircase.

“You’re asking me that now when you already knew the whole reason why?!” Ashlyn was trying not to cry when she countered her father.

“Ashlyn, he’s still your father.” Serenity reminded her daughter with a calm tone.

“When did that happen, mom? When I was a kid? How about now? Where’s my father and not the alpha?” hearing those words from her mother, her eyes started to swell up with threatening tears. Then she stormed as soon as she asked those words to them.

“Ashlyn.” Jace was about to talk to her more but his wife stopped him.

“Let her, dear. She’s hurting.” Serenity calmed her husband.

“But her attitude…” Jace tried to reason but Serenity just shakes her head.

“Don’t be surprised since she got that from you.” Serenity pointed out as she pinched the cheek of her husband.

“What should I do then?” Jace followed his wife to the kitchen when he wondered what to do with his relationship with his daughter.

“Just let her. I’ve got the feeling, she’ll be fine.” Serenity assured her husband before placing a decent dinner for him.

“I am not sure, dear.” Jace sighed as he worried about his daughter. Serenity just hugged her husband before both of them had their dinner. They knew that their daughter won’t be joining them after what happened.

Meanwhile, Ashlyn almost slammed the door of her bedroom door but she didn't since she does not want to do the repair when it broke. She just gets inside and went on removing her dirty clothes in her grumpy mood. Then went to her decent bathroom and slammed her clothes over the humper before taking a refreshing bath.

"I really hate this." Ashlyn complained to nobody and just let the cold shower help her cool down.

She let the cold water touch her skin and made her body start to relax when her mind suddenly drifted to the time when she met her mate. She could recall the lovely scent that captivated her which made her smile. But the more Ashlyn thought of it, she began glaring when she realized what she was thinking.

"Argh! Why it has to be now?!" Ashlyn growled then she finished up her shower.

Ashlyn quickly dried herself and changed into comfy clothing like sweatpants and a hoodie. She went to her desk to get her ice cream and started eating them on her small balcony. She was sitting by the railings as she enjoyed watching the small drops of rain in the night sky. She started humming a melody since it was helping her to calm down. But there was something that hit her sensitive nose when she smelled the same scent that came from her mate. She quickly snapped to her right and saw Vladimir along with the two wolf patrollers heading to the duplex houses.

“Her scent was very much like blood but minty milk mixed in them.” Ashlyn was totally inhaling the scent as she watched them pass their house.

“Why your scent was my favorite ice cream flavor? Tsk!” she clicked her tongue before jumping from the second floor to the ground. She smoothly landed as if she had never been on the second floor in the first place.

Subconsciously, Ashlyn began tailing them in the shadow of the trees. She just carefully watched them, particularly Vladimir.

“What the fuck I’m doing?” Ashlyn muttered to herself before taking a peek at them.

With every step that Vladimir made, Ashlyn was studying them from head to toe but she quickly hide when she began to hear them talk.

“What are you apologizing for?” Vladimir wondered while they got close to the duplex house.

“You had to see our soon-to-be alpha in her foul mood.” the first wolf who ran by the name of Adrian answered and Ashlyn glared his way.

“Oh, no harm done.” Vladimir completely understood that wolves had temperament issues.

“Still we’re sorry. She was not like that at all.” the second wolf man sadly sighed and he goes by the name Lucas. Ashlyn almost made a scratch over the trunk of the tree when she heard that.

“What change then?” Vladimir got curious when he heard something about her beloved mate's sudden change. Hearing that, Ashlyn suddenly got nervous which made her click her tongue in irritation yet she still listened.

“Mateless.” Adrian answered.

“I’m gonna kill him later.” Ashlyn thought to herself with gritted teeth.

“Is there something wrong with being mateless?” Vladimir wondered since he knew some mateless wolves that he met in his travels. Ashlyn was a little bit curious when she heard that from her mate.

“Well, there was none but she’s alpha’s only child which adds more pressure to her.” Lucas answered and Ashlyn controlled her growl over her throat when she heard it.

“I see…but it's a new generation already why it was still an issue?” Ashlyn was taken a little bit surprised when Vladimir thought of it that way which made her heart warm. Yet, she hates it.

Anyway, as that conversation died down they were already at the first duplex house that Alpha Jace assigned to Vladimir. Ashlyn watched them across the street within the shadow of the trees around.

“So, here we are, and here are your keys.” Adrian said as handing the keys to the duplex house in front of them.

“Thank you and sorry, I did not catch your names…” Vladimir thanked them but realized that he did not get their names.

“Oh right, I’m Adrian and this is my brother Lucas.” Adrian was the one who does the introduction and pointed his brother next to him.

“Nice meeting you and thank you for this.” Vladimir was being polite to them which made them smile back at him.

Ashlyn was not so sure why there was something in her stomach that made her blood boil and want to reap those wolves later. She even lowly growled while watching them smiling at each other.

“Don’t worry, if had some trouble around just call us.” Lucas shakes his head while giggling.

“They’re going to pay…wait-what?!” Ashlyn thought when she heard Lucas giggle over her mate.

“Argh! What’s wrong with me?! I’m definitely not jealous! NO! NEVER!” Ashlyn tried to convince herself yet her body was totally saying otherwise. She was shaking in jealousy and her mind was already thinking of killing them especially when they were laughing with her mate.

“Sure.” Vladimir agreed since he will be needing somebody who will show him around.

“Well, rest well, Vladi.” Adrian said and gave Vladimir a nickname as if they were long-time best friends and Ashlyn gritted her teeth from what she just heard there.

“Thank you, same goes for you two.” Vladimir waved his hands as well before he opened the duplex house.

Ashlyn finally sighed and even found herself smirking when those wolves finally left her mate alone in front of the duplex house. She watched Vladimir carefully once again since she can’t help to assure that her mate was finally safe.

“Why I’m stalking her?” Ashlyn groaned to herself when somebody talked to her.

“You should not do that you know, stalking.” Vladimir appeared while leaning over the tree behind the person who was stalking him. Honestly, Ashlyn’s heart rate began to fasten and it was not just because of her mate’s voice but because it was her mate.

“I AM NOT STALKING YOU!” Ashlyn was totally surprised while she tried to play it cool - like her usual behavior.

“WHO ARE YOU FOR ME TO STALK YOU ANYWAY?!” She shouted at him again while she was trying to hide the fact that she was blushing from being caught.

“Your voice speaks defensively, did you know that?” Vladimir calmly said but he was teasing her.

“WHAT THE FUCK! I AM NOT STALKING YOU!” Ashlyn kept in her defensive mode as she shouted at him.

“Right, if you say so, my beloved mate.” Vladimir appeared before her and whispered those words. Ashlyn shivered and her breathing hitched as if things suddenly stopped within just a split second.

“DON’T GET CLOSE TO ME, STUPID!” Ashlyn didn’t know what to do and the next thing she knew, she sent Vladimir flying back to the tree that he has leaned a while ago.

Ashlyn immediately run as fast as she could since she was trying to hide the blushing face that Vladimir caused her. Not to mention that her heart has never beat so loud to the point that it was already ringing to her hearing.
