He cocked his head to the side, studying me. The glint in his eyes ever present.

“I said, why should I? Because let’s be frank, this information is gold. And you have enough gold to sustain me and my drop out habits.”

The information registers in my mind, what he was saying.

“Are you.. are you asking me to pay for your silence right now?”

He clicks his tongue and snaps his fingers in my direction, a broad smile on his face.

“You are smart too. A complete package. Want to trade places with me?” he asks Vaughn.

I stare at both of them in complete bewilderment. I didn’t know Jeff, so I could not tell if the grin on his face was that of a criminal mastermind or I was imagining things.
