Chapter 48 A Sham

Henry took Lilian to a private booth, and she followed him with eager eyes.

He took his place and gestured for Lilian to sit.

“It's difficult to imagine a woman like you in here as a waitress,

how come you’re here, Lilian?”

Henry asked, he remembered very well the way Lilian praised him and also admired his business tactics.

A woman with a sharp mind like her working in the nightclub as a waitress, especially in his club. He found it difficult to believe at first.

“Uhm… A friend of mine works here… I am just filling in tonight actually as her replacement.” Lilian explained with a soft smile and Henry’s pupils relaxed on her.

He leaned his body back on the sofa and watched Lilian with interest in his eyes.

“You’re a kind friend, Lilian…” He praised making Lilian blush but then his words dropped her smile in an instant, “and a stupid one, too…”

“Oh, how come?” Lilian looked at him puzzled.

“Do you know what kind of things happen in this nightclub, Lilian?” Henry asked and Lilian shrugge
