"This is certainly no time for argument. Instead, let's focus our energy on other important things like your speedy recuperation." Isabella continued as she gave them both a stern look.

She heaved a deep sigh. Her eyes softened as they roam over her daughter.

"Honey... I understand how torn apart you're feeling right now. We are grieving with you and trust me, we terribly regret having forced all this on you. We didn't anticipate any of what happened today, but as life would have it, it did happen independently of what any of us had wished for you. But that doesn't eliminate or reduce our love for you."

She leaned down to plant a kiss on her forehead and then stroking her cheeks with her thumb she said calmly.

"Do you trust us, Janice?"

Janice's eyebrows rose diametrically.
