Chapter 37

Aria

My eyelids felt heavy as I tried to open them. I couldn't move but I could feel the pain attacking my body, the pace of my heartbeats increasing every second.

The soft surface underneath me, the beeping sound of the cardiac event monitor, and the smell of various medicines told me that I was in the hospital.

I once again tried to open my eyes but every muscle of my body was in excruciating pain that I could not even describe the bare minimum. There was an invisible weight that was forcing my body down on this hospital bed and prevented me from making any movements at all.

How did I even end up here?

The moment the question had passed through my mind, the answer came back swashing into my head like a rushed frantic wave of memories. The rouges, the jungle and darkness, and finally Drake....

Suddenly the weight that'd pinned me down where I was, vanished in thin air. I opened my eyes and my body shot up.

My eyes looked everywhere in a rush as I sat up. My breathing came out as pant
