I starred awake "Derrick ?" I murmured, my voice groggy.

He turned to me with a warm smile. "Hey there. How are you feeling?"

I sat up slowly, a mixture of embarrassment and gratitude washing over me. "A little better, I think."

My embarrassment and shame lingered long after I saw Derrick and remembered the events of the previous night surprise. I couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that came from being cared for in my most embarrassing state.
