Unexpected 51: The Unexpected

THE MORNING, Zandy and I were surprised when both of our parents came to the house one after the other. Uncle Andrew and Aunt Mandy arrived first and a few minutes later, Mom and Dad arrived.

"How are you, hija?" Aunt Mandy asked me kindly as Zandy and I sat side by side on the long sofa. Mom and Dad are on one sofa and Aunt Mandy and Uncle Andrew are opposite us.

I smiled. "I'm fine, Aun—Mom," I answered shyly because I almost called her Aunt again. I don't even know what else to say. I suddenly felt tense and nervous.

Aunt Mandy and Mom just smiled, while the two boys next to them were serious.

"I'm glad to hear that, hija. I'm sorry, we can't visit you here always, we're just too busy with business and various business meetings," Auntie Mandy explained.

"You, Zandy, how are you? How's your back? Are you feeling well?" Mom said that there is still a trace of concern for Zandy.
