Lily nodded in affirmation. Her eyes became teary. The severe headache she felt earlier was panting her painfully and is very painful. Perhaps She should stop trying to remember her past.
Kayden Diego saw her tears, he turned his eyes away. Someone or a group of people wanted this woman dead. He doesn't know what she had done or what their reasons were, but they could have at least informed the police and let them do their job rather than take her life into their hands. Or could it be they wanted to murder her for a gain?
He would have Justin Stone investigate who this woman truly was. "How long have I been unconscious?" Lily asked.
"Four days,"Kayden Diego answered simply.
It's been four days since this woman has been under severe intensive care from a werewolf doctor. He couldn't take the injured woman to the hospital because first, he would have to give an explanation on how and where he found her and secondly, she wouldn't have been able to make it to the hospital. She would definitely have died before ever reaching the hospital.
If it hadn't been for the special healing power of his clan and the medical excellence of his doctor, she would never have had the chance of being alive.
She would have died and rot away at the valley of the cliff without anyone knowing or giving her tattered body a burial.
He found her many kilometers away from their city but didn't know which city she came from. In his werewolf form, he could run swiftly and cover many kilometers in a minute.
He had used his werewolf healing power to hasten her recovery and healed her bullet injury but doctor Ning had taken his blood and transfused it into her as a result of her excessive blood loss.
"Where did you find me?" Lily asked like a child who had just realized her mother didn't get her a candy from the grocery store. She wants to know if he found her below a cliff or not. If yes he found her below a cliff then, what she thought was a dream is no doubt a minute piece of her memory and if otherwise, then it's an ordinary dream.
" I found you mid-way below a cliff," Kayden Diego replied. He can't possibly explain to her that he was on a full moon rampage when he happened to hear human voices from afar.
With eagerness to devour the humans and feast on them he went towards the direction of where the voice was coming from. Before he could get to them, he heard two gunshots and a scream.
Following the scream, he saw a body falling and instantly dived toward it and caught it Midway before it ever got to the bottom of the cliff.
As he carried her on his back, they both reached the bottom of the cliff but the wounded woman was bleeding immensely. He gave a loud howl, summonings his pack members around who immediately assembled themselves before him. They gladly took the wounded woman to the Alpha's mansion.
Lily Cruz looked disturbed, why would anyone want her dead? Who had she offended that felt Killing her would be the only way to appease himself or herself? She desperately wants to remember her past and who that person was.
"Thank you for saving me" Lily showed appreciation and bowed slightly. Thanks to this Lord, she would have been dead already.
"You're welcome huh.. Lily. I guess I will have to start calling you Lily. You'll have to remain here for the time being until you regain your lost memory and can remember your home and your family.
Secondly, whoever that person was, who wants you dead might still be lurking around the corner. This is the only safe place you can be. Is that okay?" Kayden Diego inquired.
Lily nodded. What other options does she have when she can't even remember who she had been or who her families were.
"In the meantime, make yourself comfortable and if you need anything, tell the servants" Kayden Diego declared and stood up.
Meanwhile in Imperial City, Damian Cross was pacing back and forth in his office. The police Chief was in front of him. His worried looks and confused state made him appeared really tensed up.
"So far Mr Damian Cross, nothing has been found about your wife's sudden disappearance. We interrogated her assistant and found out that his last conversation with madam was when she told him she was going for lunch" Police Chief Clem explained.
Damian Cross was Lily's husband. They had only been married for two years before Lily's sudden disappearance. He is a man of about 160cm in height with a chubby look. His face was round, with hooded eyes. He wears short hair. He is not handsome to be precise but can pass a second glance.
At the officer's words, he paused and gave a sterning look at the Police chief "You have to do your job well. It's been four days already and nothing had been found about my wife's disappearance and the report from the Police is not calming my troubled heart at all" His anxiety was taking a hold on him already as he was feasibly trembling.
"I can assure you that we'll find Mrs Cross either dead or alive" Police Chief Nathan declared.
"You have to bring her alive please. Even if you have to go to the depth of hell" Damian Cross pleaded just as the Officer's walk-in talking chirped:
Fetching the walk-in talking out of his pocket, the call soon got connected "Officer Nathan on the line...ok...where?..I am with her husband, we'll be right there" Before the police chief could say anything, Damian Cross beat him to it and blurted out "what, has my wife been found?" glaring at the police officer as if he would swallow him whole if he was not fast enough in answering his question. "Not really, but something that might give us a clue to her whereabouts" Police chief Nathan explained. Damian Cross sighed audibly before he heard the officer ask "I am afraid you have to come along to identify some objects that were found" His colleagues have found some vital things that might be linked to Mrs Lily Cruz's whereabout. " Oh!.. sure I am more than willing to come along" Damian Cross agreed and took his phone and car keys and went out, walking behind the police officer . They drove for two hours non stop until they arrived at the boundary of the city. Some police
The transparent bag contains dry patches of blood. Damian Cross' heart quaked at what he saw. The officers squinted and waited for the Rappeller to explain what he'd seen down there. Getting the camera out of his waist purse, he showed them the various patches of dried blood that he saw at the bottom of the cliff. He told them further that he only collected a minute part of the blood patches for a laboratory examination. But something else really scared them: they saw prints of claws amongst the blood patches. From a closer observation, they realized the claw prints were most likely belonging to wolves. "We will have the forensic department examine the dry blood patches and get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can return home and wait for our call" Police chief Nathan re-assured Damian Cross. When they are through with their final investigation, and the blood patches tally with that of Lily Cruz, that's when they would announce the end of the investigati
What hurts Anna the most was that the woman her sweetheart was married to was none other than her best friend Lily Cruz!. Each time he's holding Lily in his arms and Anna is around them, he remembers how almost teary Anna's eyes usually were. But that was in the past now, he can be with her henceforth without having the slightest fear of being caught by Lily. He must thank his parents for their support.Their counsel coupled with the role they played in sending Lily and her parents to the other end of eternity is the pivot upon which his new life now leans. They helped him pave a way for financial freedom for the rest of his life. He would take over the Cruz cooperation as it's President. He didn't plan to silence Lily so soon, but this was all her fault. Who told her to find him and Anna doing things couples do?, something he had never done with her in their two years of marriage. He had been married to Lily for two years but hadn't consummated their marriage. He had l
With these thoughts troubling her mind, Lily rolled from one end of the bed to the other. Meanwhile, Kayden had retired to his study to do some work. He had not been to the office for quite some days now. He had been working from home and looking after the unconscious Lily. He wanted to know what her reaction would be when she opens her eyes in an unfamiliar house. But who would have knew, that she was going to lose her memory so much that she's not even sure of her name. After responding to some mails, and signing some documents, his mind drifted off to the woman sharing his roof. There's something about that woman that makes him want to help her. Why did he felt that inner compulsion to save her life? Why did he willingly gave up his blood? She's a woman and he was in his werewolf form on the night he found her. On such nights of the full moon any Wolf would be willing to devour and kill but on the contrary, he had the intuition to save her. When he brought her to his m
Without Waiting another ten seconds, Kayden Diego walked out of the room shutting the door behind loudly. He shouldn't have gone to her room. Why was he doing the wrong things over and over again after meeting this woman Lily? A certain part of his body had gone rigid and protruding like a predator capable of devouring his prey. If Lily had mistakenly allowed her eyes linger to the lower part of his body, she would have seen the pranks that certain part was playing on him. So embarrassing. Even if the sky was going to fall, he was not going to enter her room again. Kayden Diego got into his room and quickly went for a shower. He had to calm his tensed body. He had never felt like this before for any woman but this woman had awoken a sleeping part in him. He thought he was so strong and no woman was capable of arousing his masculinity. But that philosophy of his had been proven wrong by Lily. He must avoid her deliberately henceforth. He can't get himself into an unjust
Lily was the first to finish her meal. She glanced at Kayden who sat on her right and teased " if we were in a competition, I definitely would win". But Kayden did not reply nor spare her a glance. Justin had been stealing glances at his Lord and the woman by his side. Lord Kayden seemed uncomfortable with Lily's presence. The happy cheerful Alpha a while ago had now turned into an icy cold expressionless man. Seeing Kayden ignored Lily. He felt the atmosphere become chilly with a compressed aura. To ease the tension, and not make Lily angry he jokingly asked "that's how Lord eats and I am beginning to adapt to his way too" His fear was immediately dissipated when Lily chuckled and Said " I am usually excited when I eat my favorite foods and always ends up emptying the plates earlier than usual. And fried rice, is my favorite!" She replied happily with a giggle but suddenly paused with a frown. Justin saw the sudden frown on Lily's face and immediately asked "what happen
As soon as Justin went into Kayden Diego's study, he saw the latter staring intently at his laptop with a faint smile on his lips. He raised his hand and beckoned to him to come over. The study is a large room with a giant book shelf. The shelf houses a wide variety of books and journals ranging from business journals and books on various human endeavors. There's a large mahogany desk and behind it a swivel chair. There are different files arranged on one side of the desk. There's a part where stationaries are kept. Kayden Diego sat behind the desk with his computer on the top, obviously feeling excited to have been invited Justin over. Justin walked over. He looked at the laptop and saw what was displayed on it. A multimillion dollar contract award from the government of Z-country had been awarded to the Starlight Group!. Kayden Diego is the president of the Starlight Group, one of the largest groups in the city. This contract had been pursued by Kayden for months and h
The Cruz cooperation was shut down momentarily. All the employees were asked to return home and mourn their deceased boss. A large portrait of Lily Cruz was placed at the gate of the company. The Cruz castle where Lily and her husband lived was opened for as many as are interested to stop and leave their condolences. Damian Cross was heart broken. The butler and Lily's chauffeur were the ones that held him down. Once he had hit his head against the wall and would have continued if it weren't for the quick intervention of the butler who stopped him by holding him in a tight hug. Several times he had pleaded with them to let him be. He would stab himself to death so that he would be with his darling wife Lily. He can't live without her, she was his everything and the light that brightens his life. Damian Cross' parents sat with the guests and sobbed. They said wonderful words about their daughter in law. She's such a pure, perfect and loving daughter in law anyone could ev
