Seventy One

I frown at Sarah's words, wondering what she meant. My head snapped up when I heard voices coming from the outside of the prison. I could tell one particular voice from the rest of the voices, because it was one I hear all the time.

My eyes met with Zigglers as the same realization dawned on us; Jaxton is here and he's on his way here..

I turned to Sarah, clasping her hands tightly. Just as I was about to speak, Sarah stood and went to the water closet in the room. Reaching behind it, she brought out a tiny chip and came back over to me. Taking my hands in hers, she placed the chip in my hand.

I stare at the chip and then at her, my eyebrows arched in question.

" That will be more useful to you than whatever it is that I will say to you," Sarah explained. " No matter the reason I have, Freya, I did betray you and I should face the consequences of my action."

I hide the chip in my bra, my eyes welling up at the gesture.

" Take that as a way of I apologizing for what I did," Sarah a
