Adriana's Point of View

“Adriana? Where are you, babe?”

“Hey, Adriana. I need you to come back, sweetheart. I need you to be here.”

Why was Daemon still trying to contact me? It was two times now. He already had his chosen Luna, and there was no way he could have both of us. I wouldn’t allow it, and frankly, I didn’t think she would either, whoever she was.

Callie had told me that Daemon wouldn’t be able to mark his new Luna because marking your true fated mate was forever. Knowing that made me realise that the emotional distance I thought was between us was most likely because he hadn’t meant to mark me in the heat of the moment. I certainly didn’t mean to sink my canines into his neck, either. Still, Calliope took over momentarily, and it just happened. I assumed that it was the same for him.
