Chapter 30

Solana's POV

As we walk towards the shore I felt at peace and the pain that my mother had caused me slowly washed away.

After a while, we reached the shore so we stopped walking.

Alton looked at me then let go of my hand and he sat on the sand so I did the same.

I stared at the vast darkness and then closed my eyes as I feel a soft and cold breeze hugs my skin.

"Do you always go here?" I asked then looked at him.

Alton turned his head in my direction and then nod his head.

"Mom and Dad always fight and to escape I will go here," he responded and while looking at his eyes I saw a different version of him. Playful and ruthless Alton is now gone all I see is a man who has been broken by the world.

"Where's your Mom?" I asked the question that I had been suppressing to ask. I know it is too personal so I won't force him to answer it.

"I don't know," he responded. I saw the pain in his eyes but he hide it by smiling.

"I'm sure she misses you," I said but he shake his head as if he disagree
