I slowly opened my eyes to a warm and bright room. The sun was shining through the windows and a gentle breeze flowed through the curtains. A maid with her hair scraped back into a bun and a smile on her wrinkled face greeted me. "Good morning madam. Did you sleep well?" she asked.

"Thank you for asking. Yes, I did." I said, feeling grateful for her care. The maid opened the curtains and the windows, letting in fresh air and light. I sat up, blinking a few times and wondered what was happening. "Where is Alex and the twins?" I attempted to get off the bed, but the maid hurried over.

"Please, madam. The King has requested that you rest. The children are eating their evening meal in the dining hall. The King has appointed a minder named Mindy to see to their needs so you may get the rest you need. I am here to see to anything that you may need." she explained. She gestured to the tray of food she had brought with her.
