Kabanata 40

Nasa isang private rest house kami. It's located in a hill where a relaxing garden is set in the middle and a small fountain with fishes in its base. Hindi kami gaanong kalayo sa syudad ngunit masasabi mo talagang matiwasay at hindi maingay ang paligid. 

I'm sitting here in the veranda where I could actually see the people and the infrastructures below. It's already 5 o'clock and Manuel was outside, preparing something I don't know. Sorpresa raw iyon kaya ayaw niyang malaman ko kung ano kaya hindi ko na rin siya kinulit.

Napatingala ako nang naramdaman ko ang presensya niya. “Let's come outside.” aniya at kinuha ang kamay ko upang tulungan akong makatayo. Nagmukha tuloy akong buntis. He stopped for a moment and whispered into my ears. “Close your eyes before we go out.”

“Huh? Bakit naman?”
