After Marcos left, they both retired to their separate bedrooms. Xavier was about to lie down on his bed when he remembered something. He left his room and went to Chiara's bedroom. He knocked on the door and waited for her to open it. She opened the door dressed in a white cotton singlet and pyjama pants. Chiara decided to explore the feelings Xavier provoked within her. She researched about it and discovered she was in lust with him. She surfed the internet to learn how to go about it and she saw different options. She did not want to force him to have sex with her, she wanted it to be his own decision. She also wanted him to make the first move because she had no idea what to do, it was all new to her. She had came across different private date ideas when she finally decided to have a picnic. It was Tuesday and she was at her company, doing some paperwork when her mind became filled with thoughts of Xavier. She told her assistant, Max to order a fully prepared picnic basket for her and she left work when the picnic basket arrived an hour later. Xavier had been shocked when Chiara returned home in the afternoon and said they were going for a picnic. He became hopeful that it would be another chance to escape but his hope was dashed when she said they were going to have the picnic in the garden. When they arrived at the garden, Chiara went towards the gazebo near the garden, while Xavier went to explore the garden. The garden had a rich variation of flowers and they were all well groomed. He was admiring some begonias when Chiara came up to him. "Do you like them?" She asked him. "Yes. My favorite is Dahlia. What is your favorite flower?" She looked around the garden and shook her head. "I don't like flowers." He looked at her with surprise. "Why do you have this beautiful garden if you hate flowers?" When they arrived at the main entrance, one of Chiara's bodyguards approached her. "Good evening, Boss." He greeted her. She nodded her head in response and unlocked the door. "Thanks for the company." She said to him when they entered the house and she walked away with the bodyguard following close behind her. He was annoyed by how she dismissed him but he ignored it and decided to follow them. He saw them enter the study and he waited some seconds before he moved towards the door. He pressed his ear against the door, eavesdropping on their conversation. All he got from their conversation was Nick's name. They were speaking Italian and he did not understand the language, hence every other thing they said sounded strange to him. When he heard footsteps approaching the door, he walked stealthily and fast to the living room. He had just sat down when he heard their footsteps approaching the living room.

Chiara was shocked to see Xavier waiting for her in the foyer when she arrived. He looked at her with so much hatred and anger, he was staring daggers at her like he would kill her at any moment. Already accustomed to such stares, she ignored him. "What did you do to him?" "You are going to be more specific if you want an answer from me." She replied and strode in the direction of her bedroom. "Nick. Did you have your men kill him because you don't want your hands dirty?" He stood in front of her and observed her clothes. She was still in the same clothes she wore earlier in the morning and there was not a trace of blood on them. "I am not scared of blood, not in the very least. The next day, when Chiara woke up, the reminder on her phone informed her of the visit to Priscilla's house. She had made plans to visit her every two weeks and she was going to follow the plan, irregardless of Xavier's behavior. Xavier had been avoiding her since the incident in her bedroom two days ago. He did not eat with her yesterday and he avoided her all through the day. She did not understand him and it bothered her, more than it should have. Any other person and she would have been indifferent, but with Xavier, she became affected. When she finished bathing and dressed up, she went downstairs to the kitchen. The mansion came into view as Chiara drove down the driveway which encircled a water fountain. She parked her car in the driveway and walked towards the main entrance door. The mansion was a three storey building with about thirty rooms in total. It had fifteen bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, three guest bathrooms, a library, a study which Leonardo used as his office, a family room, two living rooms, a kitchen, dining room, a gym, basement, a theater room, two laundry rooms and wine cellar. It also had an indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool, the garage and servants quarters were in another building, west of the mansion. The compound was enclosed by a rather tall fence and it was highly secured, there were fifteen men guarding the house, inside and outside. The interior of the mansion had a modern design and it was lovely. It was a Friday and Leonardo had called to remind her of the dinner. Her parents held a dinner once every month which she was mandated to attend. H

Later that night, Chiara unlocked the door to her house and walked in. Xavier came out of the living room to see her, he looked worried. "Where were you?" He asked. "You have no right to ask me questions like that." She walked away from him and headed to her bedroom. "Oh really?" He followed her up the stairs. "So, you could not call and tell me you were going to be late." "You don't have a cellphone." She entered her room and was about to shut the door when Xavier walked in. "I'm sure you could have figured something out, if you wanted to." She shrugged her jacket off and turned to face him. "Yeah, if I wanted to." His expression of anger suddenly morphed to concern and he moved closer to her. "Are you okay?" She did not understand the reason for his sudden change in mood. "Yeah, why do you ask?" "Because you have blood all over your top.
