C H A P T E R 28 - Elijah.

I had to admit that I didn't want to leave Samantha alone, but when duty calls, it does not give you much of a choice. I knew that I hadn't really been spending any time with her while I had been home - on the contrary, I had literally gone to sleep - but it was a principle. I had been there with her, and I had known that she was safe and it was enough for me. Well, up until now, it had been enough for me.

Now, I wished that I had been able to bring her with me, that I wouldn't have had to leave her alone, but unfortunately, it was too late for that. It was something that wouldn't have been possible in the first place, especially since she was a part of the initiation ceremony. No one was supposed to know who she was or who her family was, and yet, we had already crossed some boundaries by taking her to the infirmary, and then to the gymnasium as well.

She had already made a name for herself - and that was the main problem.
