Thea made her way out of her office wincing at the daylight hitting her face. She had been camping inside her office since their poker night two days ago. Lucian’s strict working schedule made it hard for them to cross paths often.

Not that she has any problem with that. In fact, if she was being honest, she had been studiously avoiding him. Since the last time, they were together and Lucian kissed her, her heart had been wavering so much and her mind asking questions she didn’t want to think about. So she was afraid of facing him. Kind of.

He would let her rest whenever she would tell him that she was in bed. And she took the opportunity to concentrate on the theoretical part of her research. She made much more progress in the last few days than she did in a week. This is why she didn’t really need to intentionally avoid him because he would leave her alone if she was working.
