He hesitated for a moment, not understanding my intent. But he complied, saying, "Yes, sir."

I turned back into the office, my mood growing increasingly tense. Soon, I felt the familiar sensation of heat coursing through my body. I scratched myself, feeling the itchiness, and my skin felt like it was burning. The sensation was unbearable, and it was as if there were ants crawling all over me. My skin was both itchy and painful as if it were breaking down. Even the slightest touch of clothing against my skin was excruciating. I stripped off my clothes until I was completely naked in the pitch-black room. It was quiet all around, and I could hear the rapid thumping of my heart, like a drumbeat.

This time, the discomfort came earlier and more intensely than usual.

Could it be that, as Olivia said, Charlotte's arrival will worsen the curse on me?
