Chapter Fifty-One

Gabriel

His heart was pounding in his ears; he could almost hear his blood rushing through his veins as his adrenaline circled through his system. He stood as tall as he could without his body shaking, knowing this would be a fight to the death. The room around them was crumbling into pieces, bits of rubble and wood surrounded them, and Gabriel realised the whole castle was falling apart. It was a wonder they managed to hide in this place, he thought before his eyes connected with the man in front of him. Gabriel could vaguely remember the man’s name - Lloyd, wasn’t it? He remembered Angel’s friend crying for him - and memories of his crime infiltrated his head, making him shudder. If it weren’t such a dire situation, the guilt Gabriel felt would have consumed him, but he couldn’t let that happen, not right now.
