        After the harsh rejection by Wesley, their friendship started to waver. Once close friends and sworn brothers now didn't even glance at each other. Once they used to agree on everything but now they had different opinions. Jean didn't allow that rejection to break him. He had felt pain when he and his feelings were rejected but had felt worst when Wesley ignored him totally for a month without even acknowledging his presence and suddenly declaring he had a beautiful lover who also belonged to the nobility. How could Wesley do that to him? Did he even consider for a minute his feelings?  Well, if Wesley wanted that then he would also ignore him.
