Brynn isn't out of the woods just yet. Comment/like/vote!
THEO My eyes surveyed Dark Moon pack members who came out to the field once I lifted the command to stay inside. We needed them to understand what happened because there was no way that we would be able to sweep this under the rug and definitely did not want to. Elle said that she would send out an Alpha command to everyone in this pack to figure out who the traitors were once and for all. “Stand still unless you are a traitor to this pack. Come to the front if you at any time have or would betray this pack,” Elle commanded. It was remarkable how strong her command was. It made sense given her lineage and all of that fun stuff. The quizzical looks on everyone’s faces as they became immovable were priceless. Normally, only Alphas could issue commands like that to their own pack members. Yet, Elle just accomplished something that should have been impossible. What was invaluable was the fact that it worked to show us all of our snakes. Ten…fifteen…seventeen people came forward. It f
BRYNN “Eighty-nine wolfies jumping off a waterfall. Eighty-nine wolfies –” Moira cut me off with a warning growl as she glared at me. ‘Please for the love of everything happy in the motherfucking world. Stop with the wolfies!’ We had been walking and walking and walking without knowing where the hell we needed to go or what we needed to find. There was no map, no clues, and sure as hell no ideas given about this needle in Selene’s haystack. “Do you have a better song to sing or an idea of what we should be doing to find what we need?” I asked with a huff punctuating the end of my question. I closed my eyes and took a couple of deep breaths. Breathe in … hold it … breathe out … repeat. “Sorry. I’m just frustrated, but I know you are too. Do you have any ideas?” I asked her sheepishly. The distance away from Theo was wearing on me like hell because I did not know if he was okay. Was he hurt at all? Did he know that I was fine? Were our people okay? The questions were killing me
THEO I pressed a kiss to my mate’s temple as we watched her parents reconnect. It had still not fully sunk in that her mother was alive and back here after having been killed. I felt an overwhelming amount of love and awe coming from Brynn. Her family was finally whole again after seven years of struggling through the reality of never seeing her mother again. Luckily, it was not the path or reality that was forced upon them until they eventually passed on from this world. I knew that Brynn and Moira were safe in Selene’s realm, but that did not abate all worry or fear that we would never see them alive and awake again. It was just a good thing that they did not take any longer because each minute without them beside us, Zen and I were edging a bit closer to insanity. There was a knock on the door. I knew who it was without even needing to ask because I had called for my parents and Jackson to come up. It was imperative for them to realize what happened before anyone else. Tris’ r
THEO I woke up before Brynn did, so I jumped in the shower to shake off the remnants of the nightmare I had where my mate faced off against an invisible force that destroyed her. The prophecy bullshit really fucked with my mind. The warm water pounded down against my back perfectly to act as a massage that my muscles so desperately needed. I had been so lost in thought that I missed the fact that my mate was awake until something warm wrapped around me. My eyes snapped open, and a deep groan came from me when I took in the sight of my sexy mate on her knees with me in her mouth. “Fuck, baby,” I grunted. Her darkened eyes looked up at me through her eyelashes, and nothing ever looked as sexy as she did in this moment. I had received her very first blowjob, something that I was incredibly smug about. It had been bliss in the purest form and fashion, but she had only gotten better since then. Her tongue swept around the knob on her way up and back down. My eyes rolled a little when
BRYNN The pack took the reemergence of my mother well. They were confused as shit, but they definitely placed their trust in us with all of this. There was only so much you could deny when all of our leadership was saying the same exact thing. I had been incredibly happy when I saw my parents’ marks at breakfast. They did not waste any time whatsoever, and I loved that. Life had gotten easier for my father over the years, but he was never the same after she died. He held onto the love they shared, but he was still lost without her. It warmed my heart when I saw him laughing and smiling at her like it was their first day together all over again. We had messaged Elle this morning to get her advice on instituting a Lamia rank and if she thought it would be possible. Her response was ‘hell yes’ in all caps. She had suggested there to be three like Nightshade had. “They’ll be here in just a few minutes, baby,” Theo said as he nibbled my shoulder, making me giggle. I looked up at the ma
THEO Jackson offered to be my sparring partner, so I definitely took him up on his offer. It seemed like something new was thrown our way the moment that something was resolved, and it was weighing me down. Brynn was being hunted by the Eyes because they wanted to enslave her and use her power for their own sick and twisted plans of domination. Now, she was going to have to face an unknown great evil. All who tried had failed apparently. What did that mean for my lovely mate? You guessed it! It was her responsibility to defeat whatever the fuck it was. Jackson ended up with a black eye, bruised ribs, and various abrasions. Trust me when I said that he gave just as well as he got. I was sporting a bruised jaw, a bruised rib, and a couple of busted knuckles. It would take maybe an hour for the busted knuckles to heal. The important thing was that it helped me get out my frustration. Fighting was a form of release for me. It was something that my father taught us growing up because o
THEO Excitement ran through my mate’s veins as we walked to the training field for her showdown with Jackson. “Elle was telling me that there’s a witch they know who can spell jewelry so that it won’t break during a shift. I was hoping I could get my favorite necklace taken care of,” she said to me. That was a great idea actually but not just about the necklace. Zen and I decided that we would propose for certain, so I would love to have the ring spelled. I was thankful that she mentioned it so that I could contact Kade later to find out for certain. “Hmm. Your favorite. I like that and think it’s a good idea.” I kissed her temple. Brynn walked over to embrace her parents. I could not begin to express how happy she was to have her mother back. She finally felt complete again. There was absolutely no way that she would have been able to save her mother back then, but she had still carried that guilt around until recently. Every day without her mother was another reminder of that ho
THEO I was incredibly nervous about tonight. The official question would be popped to Brynn and Moira. They would say yes, we were sure of it. However, it would be in front of the pack. That was the seriously nerve-wracking part. Hopefully, Brynn would not hate me for it being a public proposal. Should I rethink the venue for popping the question? ‘No,’ Zen said adamantly. ‘It won’t matter where it’s asked. All that matters is that it’s asked. It’s perfect for tonight.’ I took a steadying breath and released it slowly. He was right. Jackson came over as I was straightening my tie. He brushed my shoulders off and gave me a smile. “Looking sharp,” he said. I looked over my tux ensemble. The colors were picked out for me so that they matched Brynn’s dress. My mother refused to give me any hint about what her dress looked like, so I just had to be patient. My tux was black, but the tie and vest were a black and crimson design. A single silver rose was pinned to my lapel. “You thin
