BETA STIMPSON I stood there listening to the war cries of the White Claw Pack. They were relentless. No matter what we threw their way they continued to try and penetrate our walls. I looked down at the shields they had forged. Their crest was shining bright against the sunlight. The history books I had read as a child, told me the crest had significant meaning. MAEVE"As you wish Luna" Beta Stimpson responded to my request. Why the heck was he calling me Luna? That was a question for later. MADDOX My hammer was still pounding away at the brick wall in front of me. I was determined to break through and rescue my mate. We were all tired. My right hand was on my hammer and my left hand above my head, holding my shield. I felt the pressure of the arrows and bullets weighing down on top of it. MAEVEI gave my best witty glare in Alpha Bain's direction. I lifted my hand and slapped his shoulder playfully. He clearly thought he was quite the comedian!He winced and took a sharp inhale. My face dropped as I realised I'd slapped his bad shoulder. "Oh my Goddess! I am so sorry!" I offered apologetically. He controlled his expression quickly."It's fine, don't worry about it." I was in such a haze when Bain had first brought me here, that I hadn't had a chance to look around before being carried into his tent. MAEVEI gradually managed to regain my composure. I felt my flustered cheeks returning to a normal temperature. Once I was confident that my face no longer had a comparable colour to Red Skull from Captain America, I decided to take a seat on the sofa. I idly watched Bain pack some clothes into a suitcase. "So, Alpha Bain" I started. "I've already told you to call me Maddox." He interrupted. "I'm sorry, Maddox." I tried his name out."In all honesty, it just feels a little odd. You know, calling you 'Maddox'. Your whole persona screams authoritative. Which makes it difficult, not to refer to you as an Alpha." I reasoned. He listened to my explanation, whilst continuing to pack and shrugged his heavy shoulders nonchalantly. "I don't know what to suggest to you Maeve. But it would make me feel uncomfortable, to have you refer to me as Alpha. You're my mate, my equal." He finished. "Maybe you could somehow make yourself seem less authoritative around me? Less threatening somehow?"

MAEVEI knew we were fast approaching the Sabre Pack. The short drive made me realise how close I'd been to my pack the entire time. I had felt so alone, and isolated whilst in Alpha Carson's estate. Unbeknownst to me how close my pack had been. I suppose that's the tactic of a captor. To make you feel helpless. It had seemed as though I was a million miles away from any known familiarity, when it actual fact.
