Hearing Frederick's question, Anya suppressed her anger and responded indifferently, "Not anymore."

Frederick smirked, remembering her previous disdain. "Ms. Romero, you don't mind my penchant for lying now?"

Anya's jaw tightened, her fists clenching beneath the table. "These days, those who can lie and deceive are considered capable. I believe we should get to know each other better."

Frederick scoffed inwardly. Though he was unaware of the phone conversation, her sudden change in attitude was jarring. Just moments ago, she couldn't stand the sight of him and wanted to end the engagement.
