Team building

“I don’t know what happen between you and Elijah but he’s gone now. He left and said he’s sorry. I don’t know the reason but I’m sure you have a good reason and I won’t ask for more.”

Dad called me early in the morning in his office. I thought I’ll get scolded for leaving and for misbehaving in front of our guest but I’m glad he didn’t because I don’t know what I would say.

“Thanks for understanding dad. I really don’t want to talk about it.” I said truthfully while looking down.

I heard dad sigh and the next thing I know he hugged me. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that you would be uncomfortable in that dinner. It won’t happen again I promise.” He whispered and kiss my hair.

“Thanks dad.”

I hugged him tight. I miss this feeling, being dad’s baby.

“I don’t know if this is the perfect time to say this.” Dad broke the hug and looks at me seriously. “As your boss I should be the one to deliver the message.” He said.
