There are a lot of elements in my boos, I know. But just try to keep up. We have; - Lycans - Werewolves and Rogues (banished Werewolves) - Praised brothers (Advanced types of Rogues) — you’ll soon find out why later on. So yeah. We move… Oh, and something is about happen. I can feel it… lol
{Cayden’s POV} Dread pumped through me in waves and for once in my life, the pressure staggered my person. I was scared. Three Lycans were in the hallway, bending chaos, and were about to march towards Isla’s room. Not one. Not two. But three. Judging from the mutilation, killing the other Lycan caused me, I knew this wasn’t going to be an ordinary fight. And it’s worse this time around. Because Isla’s life was in my hands. The Lord Luna, wherever she was, had left Isla in my care and was hoping that I would protect her daughters. So as much as this moment was dreadful and muddling, it wasn’t a time to whine. I needed to make it up to Isla… and one very good way is to make sure she lives. She can’t face all these tortures because of me just to be skinned to death by a Lycan— who, by the way, shouldn’t even be here! The question crept up. What did the Lycans want? Why were they here? Everyone has been so busy fighting that nobody has had the chance to wonder what these
{Cayden’s POV} The Lycans circled around me and I shared my gaze with both of them in grim anticipation of their attack. Their growls filled the air amongst others and I studied the details of their every move. Their guise told me that both of them were confident in the intentions— if not over, and I could use that to my advantage. The Lycan on my left jumped at me and threw heavy claws at me but I inched away just in time and dumped a blow on his face. The Lycan stroked his face and teased me with a laugh. My blow didn’t do much damage to his tough skin and it made him feel indestructible. But it was an intentional move on my end. Both Lycans, now refilled with assurance, pounced at me and I artfully evaded their blows but then the Lycan on my left clawed me across my jaw and neck so that I staggered away. I clenched my face as my blood slipped through the new slits leaving the Lycans to bob in their superiority. That’s the game. You have to buy them over. They need to
{Cayden’s POV}Eight of them had pulled down the door and broken part of the walls. They had strolled into the room like they owned the Place. And now they were staring directly at Isla.I tensed up and growled defensively at them even though I was obviously no match against their numbers.Maybe today might be the day I die but I’ll not stop protecting Isla until we find out.“Which among you is the Princess?” The tallest Lycan among them asked with a menacing tone and a tight glare. I’ll take him to be their commander.“The Princess isn’t here!” Andrea yelped from a corner. She tried to protect Isla with a lie but her tone made it clear that her words were false.“Then who’s that?” The tall Lycan asked, referring to Isla on the bed.“That’s none of your business.” I growled even more, drawing all the attention to myself. I knew they came here for a fight so there was no need to stall further. The tall Lycan grinned. “That’s the Wretched Princess. Grab her and kill this fool standing
{Cayden’s POV} I wasn’t hallucinating. Isla was truly staring wide-eyed into the air, and to couple genuinely to that fact, she was gripping my hand tightly. If I was a weak Werewolf like Andrea, the tiny-looking maid, Isla’s grip would have crushed the bones of my fingers to crumbs. So I could only feel pain. But pain didn’t matter in this moment. Isla was awake! The Lycan Commander's grip on my neck had loosened when he noticed Isla’s consciousness but now he clenched it tighter and the next minute, I was sent crashing to the ground. My fall was mighty and since I had lost a lot of blood, I couldn’t stand up. But my gaze on Isla didn’t fumble for a second. Some other Lycans had joined the scene and two out of their increased number rushed to pin me down to the ground, in readiness for their Commander’s instructions regarding my death. But the Lycan Commander now had keen attention on Isla. “Looks like the pretty Princess is finally awake.” The One-arm Lycan Commander said,
{Cayden’s POV} Isla was standing before a crying Commander with heavy breaths and a bloody limb hanging in her grasp. Everyone was quiet now except for the wailing of a crumbled Commander. No one had expected that twist, especially me. Isla had basically scattered most of the bones in a Lycan’s body in a matter of five seconds— if I’m to exaggerate it. Where did she get such strength from? I mean, she just woke up from a week-long Coma. Most people need rehabilitation, therapy, food, and a lot of rest. But Isla replaced those with ferocity. Even the grip of the two Lycans clutching me to stand aright had staggered at the instance of Isla’s ruthlessness. She immediately turned a boastful atmosphere into a ghastly and dreadful one. And now she was roaming her gaze around the room with shock in her eyes. She seemed to just be realizing that there were Lycans in the room with us. Lycans weren’t supposed to even be on Werewolf grounds let alone the Princesses chambers, so her co
Chapter 77 ~ Promise To Steal Their Breaths {Isla’s POV} It was dark for so long that I forgot what being in the light felt like. But my definition of light is definitely not a sunny crumbled room with a bunch of fuming Lycans in it. It had been a very odd sight. My confusion had been beyond average as I had felt rather lifeless during the first five minutes of seeing the light. But then, consciousness started to soak into my being as I sat up on my bed. But I fully claimed my awareness when my eyes fell on him. How long was I away in my slumber that Cayden started wearing ragged clothes with red liquid stains?… I had asked myself. But then It had taken me some extra three minutes for me to realize it wasn’t an act. It wasn’t a Halloween dress. Those Lycans had been real and Cayden’s bleeding hadn’t been a makeup. The next events after that realization had occurred in shocking phases, featuring me. And at the end, I had plucked out a Lycan’s heart. A very ruthless and pr
{Isla’s POV} I turned around to meet his eyes. The last time I had seen them, they had fear and angst in them but now, they seemed calmer. “Isla.” He said my name as he retrieved his arm. “Ralph...” I managed to mutter. He had a sad look on his face that irritated me. I don’t want the pity treatment. I’m not weak! This incident makes me stronger than it makes me weak. My Dad would want that. So I have to be strong for him. “I’m sorry.” He said and I forced a weak smile. “I’m alright, Ralph.” It was surprising that out of everyone, he’s the only one I’m given this much audience to. But I’m done. I started to stroll away. But then he called me again. “Isla…” I turned back around. “I know a lot stands between us. A lot of odd energy, past issues.. a lot! But I just want to let you know that if you ever need someone to talk to, this jerk is always here for you.” He said nicely, and I smiled. Genuinely this time. The last one had been skillfully faked. “Thanks, Ralph.”
{Cayden’s POV}I hate being beaten in a battle but not as much as I hate being jailed in a freaking hospital. But yesterday, I was finally released and the relief that had brought me was measureless. Those Lycans had really thrashed me up, so a 6-day length for recovery wasn’t unexpected. And even my survival is to be considered a miracle as I had lost a huge amount of blood to certify me to have a moonlit dinner with death. But that aside, today was Isla’s coronation. She was becoming Queen of the Reigns.Today!I’m not sure what the sudden rush is about but I didn’t doubt Isla’s capabilities. She’ll make a great Queen.I know. I know I’ve said otherwise in the past but I had been stupidly blinded then. My hatred and anger had clouded my judgment so that I saw an unskilled she-wolf instead of seeing a young determined Princess striving to make sure her loved ones— her people aren’t treated unfairly.“Can I come in?” A voice said and I swiveled around to see my mum’s head poking out t
