“What was that supposed to mean?” Daria wanted to know as Trenton led them to their rooms. She looked at her daughter’s strange expression, trying to figure out what had happened. Ariana took the opportunity to visit the castle’s garden right after lunch. Mother stayed somewhere in the castle. Ariana wasn’t worried about where she was right now. She wanted to walk alone in the fresh air. The last few weeks of being outside suddenly made her feel cramped within the four walls.The gardens looked polished. Each bush was shaped exactly like the front one. Some flowers were already slowly climbing out of the ground as it got warmer every day.
