Relapse

Aira ran up to her grandmother’s room as she barked orders to the butler to call the doctor. Another seizure? So soon after the first one?!

Aire made her way to her grandmother’s room where her health monitors were beeping. Her heart had stopped beating.

Without hesitation, she made her way toward the bed fixing her position and beginning to perform CPR.

With each pump, Aira felt her heaving breath as fear and adrenaline gave her the strength to push again and again until she was on a rhythm. But to no avail.

The machine was beeping loudly telling her that she should make more effort.

But her arms failed her and for the second time that week, she felt really weak and defenseless.

A sob escaped her lips as she looked down at her grandmother’s pale face.
