Well, even though they were guards used to the cold underworld life, they could still read a room.

With tactful eyes, they scattered in different directions, some scouring the villa, knowing what places were potential safety threats. And soon, the two were finally alone.

"Alec..."

Lydia plunged into his strong arms, never wanting to part with him again. The images of his severed finger and death were still fresh in her mind. Crying at the top of her lungs, she dampened his shirt.

Alec gripped her harder, distressed by her pain.

Judging from the fact that she changed her mind about Kelvin so suddenly, he already had a hunch that just like him, she too was reborn. But why? Why were they both reborn?

Could it be that they died so pitifully in their last lives that the heavens decided to give them another chance to live again?

Alec felt there should be a reason why they experienced rebirth. Though he didn't know why, he was thankful the enemy didn't experience the same phenomenon.
