Prince Simon’s point of view

Eventually, I break the silence. “Do you ever wonder what the future holds for us?” I ask, feeling a sudden surge of curiosity.

Princess Golder looks up at me, a small smile on her lips. “Sometimes. But I’ve learned that it’s better to focus on the present. To enjoy each moment as it comes.”

I nod, feeling a sense of clarity wash over me. “You’re right. We can’t predict what’s going to happen. But we can make the most of what we have now.”

Princess Golder leans in to kiss me, and I feel a sense of contentment wash over me. In this moment, I am grateful for everything I have – my pack, my wife, and the quiet moments we share together.

As we pull away, I see a flicker of movement outside our tent. I stand up, my senses on high alert. “Stay here,” I say to Princess Golder, drawing my sword.

I step outside the tent, my eyes scanning the darkness. But I see nothing. Just the flicker of torchlight in the distance.
