Twenty seven

The journey to Amazon pack was a somber one. As we traveled through the forest, the trees seemed to be reaching out to me, almost as if they were offering me their condolences. I couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that I would never see my parents again, and that realization was breaking my heart.

Prince Simon held my hand throughout the journey, his thumb rubbing soothing circles over my knuckles. I knew he was trying to be strong for me, but I could see the sadness in his eyes too. Losing my parents meant losing a part of me, and he knew that all too well.

We arrived at the Amazon pack’s territory, and we were met by a somber procession. The pack members had come to pay their respects to my parents, and I was grateful for their presence. I knew it wasn’t easy for them to come to terms with the fact that their beloved princess had lost her parents.

The funeral was held in a clearing, and I couldn’t help but feel that it was too quiet. There were no birds singing, no leaves rustlin
